Closing the skills gap in cell & gene therapy education and training

Closing the Skills Gap
in Cell & Gene Therapy
Education & Training

Cell and Gene Therapy is Transforming Medicine

And education has an opportunity to keep pace

Talent-CGT makes this possible by equipping educators with
tools, open-souce teaching materials, and digital platforms
to prepare students and up-skill the workforce for the future of biotech.

Accessible to all

Our materials are open source
and copyright-free,
so anyone can use them.

Inclusive design

8% of men are color-blind.
We design teaching slides and visuals that work for them too.

Strengthen teaching

Digital tools such as an ELN with teacher functions to support feedback, evaluation, and learning.

Future-proof

We combine academic expertise with industry know-how to ensure materials reflect real-world science.

Our Vision

We believe education should accelerate innovation, not hold it back.

By making high-quality resources freely available and building tools that strengthen teaching,
Talent-CGT is creating an open, collaborative learning ecosystem for cell and gene therapy.

About the Project

Cell and gene therapies are redefining healthcare, offering cures for diseases once thought untreatable. But the rapid pace of innovation has created a skills gap in CGT education and workforce training across Europe. By 2030, an estimated 20% of CGT job openings could remain unfilled, unless we act not to strengthen education and training pathways.
About the project

Talent-CGT addresses this opportunity with support by the EIT HEI Initiative

Together, our consortium is building a robust European talent pipeline for CGT by:

Modular Learning for Growth

Developing modular, standardized curriculum to strengthen technical and entrepreneurial skills.

Teach-the-Teacher Program

Creating a “Teach-the-Teacher” program to scale knowledge sustainably.

Accessible Learning Tools

Providing open-access digital tools and resources for accessibility and equity.

Partnerships for Impact

Building business impact through partnerships between academia, industry, and government.
