In June, Talent-CGT joined an international summer school in Vienna for a session exploring diversity, bias and visibility in biomedical science.
Students took part in a combination of short lectures and interactive exercises. The session looked at how assumptions about who a scientist is, whose work becomes visible and how scientific careers are represented can influence both education and research.
Students worked through practical examples and discussion activities designed to make these often abstract issues more concrete. The session also linked these questions back to biomedical science and the wider Talent-CGT goal of preparing students for a rapidly changing and increasingly international field.
Activities like this extend Talent-CGT beyond technical CGT training alone, helping students develop the broader awareness and professional skills needed to work effectively in science.
